Now that we've released reading challenges on Pageticker, we thought we'd share some challenges that other schools have created. As well as challenges we think you might like to try.

How badges work on the Pageticker teacher dashboard

Driving reading engagement is much easier with Pageticker. From push notifications being sent directly to parents' phones, to the simple fact that it's quicker and easier to log reading on the app than having to find a pen. This is especially the case when families have multiple children and multiple reading records.

We're really excited to share that we now have a book management feature on Pageticker. This means that books can be loaned and schools can see their school book catalogue at a glance. Why have we created a book management feature? We know that many primary schools don't have a library or librarian and book management software can be expensive. Over the summer, we released an in-built book scanner for teachers on the teacher dashboard. Some teachers send books home for parents to log reading on the parent app. However, a number of teachers we spoke to also wanted to be able to log reading in school. So this is why we built this functionality. A number of our schools like to log guided reading, monitor intervention groups and keep track of phonics books. Children and teachers can now scan and log reading on tablets or mobiles if they wish. From the Teacher Dashboard, teachers simply need to download the QR code from the pupil reading page. The QR code can be printed and put up by the book area in your classroom. Once the QR code has been scanned, they'll be taken to a page that looks like the one in the screenshot below.
