Now that we've released reading challenges on Pageticker, we thought we'd share some challenges that other schools have created. As well as challenges we think you might like to try.
Here are some examples of Reading Challenges set in the February Half-Term

School One
All teachers in this list decided to set reading challenges over the half term holidays for their class.
Children could read anything that they wanted to but their challenge was to write a review for a book that was on their book shelf.
The milestones they set for the challenge were to write 1, 2 or 5 reviews for bronze, silver and gold.
School Two
Another school challenged the children to daily reading of at least 2 pages.
They could read anything they wanted, this could be a comic, a book, a school reading book or anything else that they wanted.
They didn't need to read independently, they could also read with an adult.
The milestones they set for the challenge were 10, 15, and 20 pages from bronze, silver and gold.
School Three
Similar to this, a further school set a challenge for children to read 100, 150 or 200 pages during the half-term holidays.
Other Reading Challenges you might like to set
You might decide to set your own challenge for the longer holidays, around books completed like the Summer Reading Challenge of 6 books in 6 weeks.
Or you might like to set a termly reading challenge for your class. This could be books completed or pages read. With the milestones, you can make this achievable for all pupils by setting a range of achievable milestones.
We'd also recommend that you include a description if you're setting a challenge as this will pull into the parent app as a little tile.
We'll continue to share reading challenges but if you have any ideas or feedback, do get in touch on support@pageticker.com
