Pageticker really is feature-packed, but we thought we'd share how our most popular features are being used in real life classrooms day-to-day.
Friday morning assembly:
Some schools use Pageticker’s certificates feature on a weekly basis, printing each class’s reading certificates every Friday ready to hand out during morning assembly.
Fun Fact: we recently added the feature of being able to print the whole-class certificates to help them with this (downloaded as one printable PDF)
After lunchtime reading:
To help pupils settle after lunchtime, many teachers build in a 15-minute reading session before lessons resume. Using Pageticker, they can quickly log reading for the entire class in one go
Neglected library books:
Teachers are using the book management system to highlight books that haven’t been borrowed or 'loaned' in a while, helping pupils discover hidden gems and encouraging a wider range of reading choices.
Group book changes:
Instead of managing book changes individually, some teachers handle this as a group activity - loaning and updating books together, particularly using the scan and log feature - saving time and keeping things organised.
Targeted focus groups:
The pupil reading page on the teacher dashboard helps staff quickly identify gaps in reading progress or engagement. Teaching assistants can then run small focus groups to support specific pupils - and log the group's reading activity in one.
Friendly competition:
On Monday mornings, some teachers display the pupil reading page on the interactive whiteboard to showcase weekend reading. Pupils love comparing progress - whether it’s who read the most or whose reading “circle” is biggest - turning reading into a fun, motivating challenge.
Whole school reading challenges:
Some schools uses the announcements feature to share how much the school has read over the past week (this is usually in the format of a screenshot from our weekly usage emails). This feature is also used to announce home reading challenges for half-term and school breaks alike.
If youre a teacher and using Pageticker, we'd love to hear the unique ways your using.
