Exciting New Features

We've released some new and exciting features on the Pageticker app and teacher dashboard. Here's a run down of the features and how they work.

Exciting New Features (App)

Parents can log their own reading

If parents would like to then they can now log their own reading on the app. They will simply need to select their own name on the reading logs screen. They can either scan the barcode of a book or search manually for a book in the same way that a child can.

If parents use Pageticker as their child has a school account, any parent logging will not be shared with the school. It is just for the parent to use and model that they are also reading to their child.

App users can change the colour of their icon

Previously app users were automatically given a colour for their icon on the app. Whilst this is still the case, they can now change the colour of the icon from within settings. Parents can change their child's icon colour, or it can be changed from within student login.

Reading Reminders

Parents can now set reading reminders in the app. To do this, they firstly need to ensure that notifications are enabled from within settings. Then they can click on reading reminders and choose the days and time when they'd like to receive a reminder.

Unlink from a student

If for any reason a parent would like to unlink from a pupil within the app, they can do this by clicking on settings and clicking the child's name and then unlink. This won't delete the pupil but it will just detach the parent from the pupil. For example, if a grandparent was looking after their grandchild they might only want to be linked to the child for a certain amount of time.

They will need to enter their password to be able to do this. We recommend that parents don't share their password with their child.

Invite More Parents By Email

If you are a teacher using Pageticker, depending on the Wonde permissions you've given us, you might be able to invite parents by email automatically, via data pulled from your MIS.

However, not all schools give these permissions and sometimes you might want to email an individual parent or guardian not listed on Wonde.

You can do this by going to User Management and Manage Students and clicking on the linked parents tab. From here you can enter an email.
