At Pageticker, we absolutely love poems. So, we thought we would share some books of poetry for children. These have all been tried and tested in primary schools over the last few years!

This wonderful book of nature poems, has a poem for each day of the year. Children can choose a date and then read out a poem aloud. I am The Seed that Grew The Tree went down a treat with a mixed Year 4/ Year 5 class.

This beautifully illustrated poetry collection, has old loved classics, like The Owl and the Pussycat, The Spider and the Fly and lots more. We have used this with a Year 2 class but the poems are very diverse, so they could be used across primary.

This book of poetry, has a poem for each day of the year. On key dates the poems are themed, from funny on April Fool's Day to festive for Christmas. These are really great to read aloud. There's a range of poets, from T.S. Eliot and Lewis Carroll to Christina Rossetti and Carol Ann Duffy, to many more.
